Rick got his first camera, a Kodak disc camera, at about the age of 12, and the infatuation with photography began.
A few years later he "acquired" his dad's Nikon FG film camera, and joined his high school year book staff as a photographer. With this he learned how to shoot in manual mode. Also, as a year book photographer he learned to process, develop, and print his own pictures in the school's dark room. That just stoked the fire.
Move ahead a few more years and he spends two years as his fraternities historian. No more dark room, but a turn to shooting with slide film. This is before the modern software packages to sync music with a digital slideshow. Rick had to use tape decks and slide projectors and sync the music to the slides to create a slideshow for the fraternity luau each year.
Rick spent the next couple of decades raising his two children with his wife, Sheila. They are empty nesters now, and Rick decided to take his life long passion to the next level. He loves taking portraits of all kinds including high school seniors and families. Rick also takes real estate pictures for a select group of agents in the Nashville area. You may also notice a knack for taking some city and landscape photos.
